Privacy Policy
How the JanePixel website collects, uses and protects your information — in plain English. Last updated 17 June 2026.
This policy explains how the JanePixel website (janepixel.co.za) collects, uses and protects information when you visit it or get in touch through it. It covers this website only. The separate agreement we put in place when you become a client governs how we handle your business data and account access — we handle that with you directly.
01Who we are
JanePixel is a founder-led social media content agency based in Welkom, Free State, South Africa, and we are the operator (responsible party) for this website. For any privacy question, email chene@janepixel.co.za and a real person will come back to you.
02Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you request a PixelPulse audit or otherwise contact us through the site, you give us details such as your name, business name, email address and phone number, plus anything you write in your message.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we receive basic technical data when you visit — such as your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived. This comes mainly through cookies and Google Analytics (see below).
03Cookies & Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it — which pages are popular, where people come from, and how the site performs. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf; we have IP anonymisation enabled.
We ask for your consent before any analytics cookies are set. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline — analytics only loads if you accept, and your choice is remembered on your device. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Strictly necessary functions of the site work either way.
04Why we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare your PixelPulse audit.
- To operate, secure and improve the website and understand what's useful to visitors.
- To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
05Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site and respond to you — for example our website host, our email provider, and Google (for Analytics) — and only as far as needed to provide those services. Some of these providers, including Google, may process data outside South Africa; where that happens we rely on their safeguards for cross-border transfers. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
06How we store and protect it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, or as the law requires. We use reputable tools and take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep it secure. No website or system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information with care.
07Your rights (POPIA)
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act you can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw consent, or object to how we use it. Email chene@janepixel.co.za and we'll handle it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
08Links to other sites
Our site may link to other websites and platforms (for example Facebook, Instagram or Google). We aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices — once you leave our site, their policies apply.
09Children
This website is intended for business owners and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
10Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear here.
